Key Manufacturing Process Steps
The manufacturing process is divided into two main stages: bag forming and sealing.
1. Bag Forming and Pre-treatment
Packaging bags are typically formed in a single step using automated equipment. The main processes include:
Unwinding and Alignment: The printed composite film roll is mounted on the bag-making machine, and photoelectric sensors ensure accurate pattern positioning.
Folding and Bottom Insertion: The flat film is folded into an accordion shape or into the bottom structure of a stand-up pouch. This step is crucial for enabling the bag to stand upright.
Heat Sealing: The sides and bottom of the bag are sealed using a heat-sealing knife. Temperature, pressure, and speed are the key parameters; production speeds typically reach 50–100 bags per minute.
Zipper Installation: For packaging with zippers, the equipment precisely heat-seals the resealable zipper strip to the inside of the bag opening before final sealing.
Punching and Cutting: Hanging holes are punched as needed, and finally, the continuous bag web is cut into individual packaging bags.
2. Filling and Final Sealing
This is the final step that determines the airtightness of the packaging:
Ultrasonic Welding: This is an advanced sealing technology. It uses high-frequency vibrations to generate heat, fusing the packaging material at the molecular level through friction, completing the process in 0.1–0.5 seconds.
Advantages: Extremely strong seals with no leakage; a small heat-affected zone; aesthetically pleasing sealing; especially suitable for composite films such as aluminum foil. It also requires no adhesives, making it safe and environmentally friendly.
Traditional Heat Sealing: Heat is transferred to the inner layer of the film using a heating bar to melt and bond it. Precise temperature control is required to avoid material deformation or damage to the contents due to overheating.
